Welcome.

Use the search function to find out what others have said about those trees - you'll be at it for hours.

Welcome to weetrees.

If you can post a picture of your trees or ask some specific questions I'm sure you'll get loads of responses.

Welcome.

There is a good club that meet at Eastbourne, so not too far from you........ http://swindon-bonsai.co.uk/2013/06/10/ ... societies/

Zoom into your area and click on the dot for details

Several of the forum members are also members at the club. Nothing beats one to one to talk about your trees, but we will help as much as we can on here

Some basic pointers

These trees will do better outside so if you haven't already done. so move them outside once the risk of frost has passed (by April it should be safe). For watering only water when the soil appears almost dry but then give them a good soak.

They are both in organic soil (compost) which dries quickly but when wet holds a lot of water. They would be much better in a granular inorganic substrate such as Akadama or other bonsai soil / soil mix. It allows a much better balance of air and water for the roots to grow in. I suggest you attend a club or look on line here or elsewhere for guidance on re-potting or ask on this thread.

For the Elm the rock is simply taking up pot (i.e. root) space so you'd be better off without it unless you really love the look of it. Be wary as it may be glued in. It's probably inert but just possibly could be leaching chemicals in the soil.

The are both quite bushy and once healthily growing after the repot (if you decide to do it) could do with a basic styling. Again a one to one at a club or similar is probably the best way to learn but if you like we could make some suggestions here.

Hello, I've noticed this on some of the leafs. Does anyone know what it may be?
