Welcome. Bonsai is a great hobby and you will hopefully have many years of fun and enjoyment with it. Chinese elm are excellent trees for people at all levels. Please post up a picture of your tree and tell us how you are looking after it. Once you've done that the good folk here will be able to give you sound advice to help you keep it strong and healthy. |

Welcome along, youre probably going to get in pretty deep with this hobby, it's the most rewarding hobby I've found, every spring is filled with new promise and anticipation. There are triumphs, heartbreaks and you won't believe how proud you can be of a stick in a pot. The challenge seems to scale perfectly with experience. But the rewards never dull. You are at a great age to start too! |

Thankyou for the warm welcome, it means alot. The great thing is i am moving into my own house soon and i have good bonsai plans for the garden! At the moment im keeping my tree indoors, spraying the leaves, light pruning to keep shape and watering when the soils going dry. Every 3 days im using a liquid bonsai feed mixed 5ml with every ltr. Is this correct. I would like to upload a picture however it says file too big. Whats the best way of uploading photos? Brad |

Welcome to the forum, Bonsaibrad. You can use an image hosting site (eg flickr or photobucket) or you can use a site called imgbb.com which allows you to upload your picture then copy and paste a link into your post. If you select the BB full linked code we will see your picture in your post which is much better than supplying a link which we have to click on to see your pictures. |
