Hi,

I'm Jeff, I was into bonsai as a youth briefly, and somehow I've arrived back at it after some time. My thanks to John Farnan for helping to get me on the forum :201thumbup:

I'm interested in native trees, Yamadori & collecting, and growing from seed. I currently find the horticulture as interesting as the finished image.

I have some 2yr old Pinus Thunbergii from seed on the go, with hopefully Larch and White Pine seeds germinating in the Spring.

I have various deciduous trees from air layers and seedlings, also Scots Pine on the go.

So early days, but I enjoy it a lot! Looking forward to joining in the conversation,

Jeff.

Welcome.

Now is a good time to spot oak seedlings with 1 or 2 leaves about to drop. You can lift them without disturbing their roots and carefully pot them up. The root is usually at least as long as the stem for 1 - 2 season old oak whips.
