Hi, I'm Jeff, I was into bonsai as a youth briefly, and somehow I've arrived back at it after some time. My thanks to John Farnan for helping to get me on the forum I'm interested in native trees, Yamadori & collecting, and growing from seed. I currently find the horticulture as interesting as the finished image. I have some 2yr old Pinus Thunbergii from seed on the go, with hopefully Larch and White Pine seeds germinating in the Spring. I have various deciduous trees from air layers and seedlings, also Scots Pine on the go. So early days, but I enjoy it a lot! Looking forward to joining in the conversation, Jeff. |

Welcome. Now is a good time to spot oak seedlings with 1 or 2 leaves about to drop. You can lift them without disturbing their roots and carefully pot them up. The root is usually at least as long as the stem for 1 - 2 season old oak whips. |
