A little pair of sharp scissors for pruning would be handy. You do not need lots of tools to start off with. As and when you come to do a repot on your tree then you may require some wire for holding the tree in the pot, wire cutters, potting mesh or plasterers scrim tape for over the drainage holes and a root tool or something similar for combing out the roots and removing some of the old soil from around the roots.

It doesn't need to be expensive when you only have a few trees so ask away and buy only what you need.

Sharp scissors would be just as useful like crazeeG says, since it's just one
tree. But if you really need prunning sheers I know a place a bit cheaper and
offer free delivery for this month and 14 quid for them.
Check it out..http://www.bonsaitreessouthampton.co.uk/

The more i've been reading the more paranoid i'm becoming about watering it correctly, Can anyone advise?
Currently i have tap water thats stood for a few days in a hoselock spray bottle and i'm spraying the whole tree.
Is this OK?

Thanks again!,
Wayne

Wayne - chill out! May I suggest that watering shouldn't be a big problem with an indoor bonsai, if you go as follows:

a) Trickle water all over the surface of the soil gently, from a long-spouted indoor watering can, letting it soak in, and go on trickling water gently until it starts to settle in the tray under the pot.

b) The surface of the soil will go dark when you do this.

c) Now, every day, look at the soil and feel it - if it is still dark, and feels cool and damp to the touch, then you don't need to water.

d) As soon as the soil goes lighter in colour on the surface, and feels dry, return to (a) and start again.

I reckon if you follow this routine every day, you won't go far wrong. I have been 'minding' a friend's Carmona (Ehretia) for the past fortnight - my first ever 'indoor' bonsai - and it seems to be working fine so far. Others with more experience will correct me if I am wrong.

Hope this helps.
