Hi - on my return from the Heathrow Bonsai show, I noticed that my crab aapple had thrown out a single flower. It had a bad summer, losing its leaves to something (possibly resulting from being sprinklered form above whilst I was on hols). It has recovered a bit, but the appearence of the flower almost seems ominous - i.e. one last flower / hurrah. Is this anything to worry about and is there any thing I can do for it over the winter period ? Has anyone else experienced the same ? Regards, |

Must be a dutch variety crab aapple Seriously - I don't know - it could be a good sign showing it has vigour back or could be a last throw of the dice as you suggest. I'd just advise to shelter it from the worst and give it tlc and see what happens. |
