I know this is probably nothing to worry about but I thought I would ask you experts anyway. I always used Google Chrome as my search engine until the beginning of the year when sometimes it just wouldn't start. I switched to Microsoft Edge and that was fine until a load of Windows updates were installed, afterwards it refused to start again, ever. I then switched to Mozilla Firefox and have had no problems at all. However, when I login to Wee Trees I get this warning message. 'This connection is not secure, Logins here could be compromised'. I know I don't use bank details etc. but is this something to be concerned about?

I use chrome and have had no such message. I wouldn't think that you are at risk. Sometimes messages appear which have been instigated by would-be security systems.

Don, in chrome, you get a little "i" in a circle just to the left of the URL. click on that and it tells you the site is not secure.
AFAIK this means its not https, i.e. its not an encrypted connection as you send and receive data, meaning theres a chance it could be intercepted. in this day and age, ideally, you want all sites to be https.
basically the site is old tech and newer browsers view this as a security risk; theres nothing specific that happened to make you get that notice, the site is as secure as it ever was i reckon.

Bill - I typed out my whole response and after I'd clicked 'submit' it warned me that you had got in there before me, did I still want to submit. As it was more or less word for word what you have said I'll just go with this instead:

What Bill said!

I experienced the same problem just now.

I have to choose "take the risk" to continue.

Google just recently changed their policy to show warnings for non https pages. As a web master myself with a non https site I was sent this message from Google a month ago. What the others said, nothing to worry about. It's Google Chome that has changed, not the site.

"Starting October 2017, Chrome (version 62) will show a 'NOT SECURE' warning when users enter text in a form on an HTTP page, and for all HTTP pages in Incognito mode."
