It is isn't it? It has to be?

Today i woke up, opened the blinds and immediately went outside in my garden, dressing gown and slippers, coffee in hand, smiling like a loon!

Checked on my trees, all looking good, all survived winter, maples, elms, the larch, rhododendron, all the other trees, all swelling with buds, that made me smile even more. I remained in the garden until i went for my evening shift at work, still smiling, smiled even more when i.... ahem, removed a shoplifters bike which was stood outside the store i work in, high fives from all my coworkers who found it hilarious! I did have the devil in my today, but i did make up for it by being extra sweet to all the customers i dealt with today.

Its the sun, and its the first warm sun really, of the year, i do feel the cold too easily, im sure im cold blooded lol so being out in the glorious spring sunshine with temperatures exceeding 17 degrees, admiring my bonsai and the garden in general, has been nothing short than a good old dose of happiness, specially after that lovely long heatwave we had last year, oh i loved it, even if my makeup was melting off my face at times!

Not at work tomorrow, got my sis in laws 30th bday party, but ill be in the garden potting up some spirea douglasi's that i bought home from work this evening, its a pink flowering variety, actually ill plant one in my front garden, the rest will go in big containers, so pleased we had some of those in, another reason to smile today!

Yeah, im not sure what the point of this post really is either, i just want to spread a bit of happiness and cheer around i guess, is that a bad thing?

I do hope this unexpected early spring weather has made you all more cheerful, unless you are naturally cheerful of course

Thank you. Happiness and cheer can be considered spread.

Spring comes in phases and we're having a warm patch at the moment. It's likely though that there will be colder weeks at some point in the next few months and spring will roughly be the same sort of time as always. Last year I saw buds emerging and the first few leaves appeared at this time but it was and is usually late April or May when the engines really start motoring.

Aye, last spring was a bitch, all that snow, then suddenly it turned into summer, to my memory at least! I think we had a month of good temperatures after the big freeze and before the heatwave, but a February like this is a rare thing, reminding me of a few years back when we went to the coast at 31 degrees in october, that years summer was late and brief, and wet!

Now off to walk the sheepdog, its a bit nippy but im ready, will look out for some saplings to bring home, maybe some moss for my moss wall in the garden, admire the daffs and pretend im mary poppins with birds dancing around my bonnet!

Again, i do apologise for creating a thread about weather, but its good weather, and thats my favourite kind!

Yeah, I've been rollerblading to work in shorts and t shirt at 5am every morning this week. Lmao, had some funny looks, but it's been great.

Sizzla, rollerblading to work at 5am in..... omg thats probably worth getting up extra early to see lol

Brendan, even though it didnt really get all that cold this winter, i still removed some delicate trees from the shed roof, the only tree i am slightly unsure of is my tamarix, i pruned it hard and so far no sign of life but ill leep an eye on her!

Lynkhart, i had to compliment a guy on his damn fine handlebar tash last night, i asked him whether it was the warm weather that made it curly, i think he thought i was a little bit mad! To be honest, dying your hair green makes more sense than those who dye it grey nowadays, they call it silver but we all know the truth =)

Penny Ann it took a while for the sun to heat up here in norfolk, we found an adder this morning while out walking in wooton woods, basking on the path right in front of us, never seen that this early in the year, sometime in march a few years back i saw lots at dersingham bog, but never in feburary! I hope its warmed up now!

Keithmart, your the sympathetic one i see =)

I enjoyed the spring weather today, root pruned a sycamore, changed the soil on a cotoneaster and wired a little spruce. Happy days!
