You crawl on your hands and knees at the garden centre looking for that poor neglected specimen that will be your next victim, then dig down to the nebari with your fingers, ask the concerned till lady for a saw and leave 70% of the tree in the carpark bin. You get home with soil up your nails, needles in your hair and a shiny look in your eye. Then the panic sets in as you realise you've got no more room for trees, and it won't be long before Mrs spots an extra tree and you'll be sleeping in the shed again, with only a heating mat and some weed membrane to make a bed. Drinking cups of blood fish and bone meal tea to gain enough vigour to apologize |
