Been away for 3 days and checked the forest when I arrived home today. Have positive movement on my wisteria buds and to me look like flower buds. How is yours doing Will. ?
I took on a different pruning regime this year with both my bonsai wisteria and the wisteria over my pergola so will be interesting wether I achieve better flowering compared to previous years. I also carried out the pruning regime on a neighbours wisteria which has never flowered so far so the results will be interesting.

This sounds promising one of mine has some large flower buds but I’m sure the other one hasn’t made it through the winter for no apparent reason Corin was here after the boot sale and he’s at a loss too??? It seems to have started to swell and put out buds etc then just given up the ghost I’ll post pix later when I’m home ;-)

I only have this one wisteria which i bought from Herons back in 2014. I keep hoping for some back budding but no luck with that yet.

So the first picture is the one I think has the flower buds on and the second one is the one I had off Arihato so I’m well annoyed to say the least that it’s not made it through winter :1crybaby: :120ranting:

Yes Definatly looks like flower buds on number 1 and on number 2 there are plenty of normal buds ? What makes you think it has passed over Will. Is it brown under bark.

It’s definitely not right it does look all dried and some what wrinkled Corin was also of the same opinion as me but neither of us could see a reason as to why, I’ll leave it as it is and warter as normal but I don’t hold much hope :32crazy:

Real shame if it has died but you never know, it might come back.

I really like that first one. Has it flowered for you before?

Will. have you any advice on trying to get mine to bud back or is it worth trying to graft new buds further down the stem.I do not feed it as wisteria take up the nitrogen from atmosphere. Would strong feeding help to force new buds ?

Yes Daryl I actually bought it in flower to make sure a few years ago and all I do is water and feed but copious amounts of water I’ve never actually trimmed it as it never puts out anything ;-)

I'd love to see it in flower when it comes out. Mine has a few flower buds but I'm keeping it in a mini greenhouse at the moment because last year, just as it flowered, the cold wind made all the flowers fall off :1crybaby: I'm tempted to bring it inside for a few days to enjoy it this year.
