Yours has flowered really well sputnik. Must be something strange in my garden as I am still in the bud stage. In the village the houses with wisteria are laden with flowers. I often wonder if this is something relative to the radiated / reflected heat from the wall it is growing against.

Undoubtedly the warmth and shelter provided by a house wall will make a difference. You may be quite lucky with your tree blooming a little later. Less chance of frost and strong winds.

They are worth having, not just for the beauty of the blooms and the incredible scent but also for the challenge of getting there. This one was an easy airlayer, if a little inaccessible, but since then I have only had decent flowering on a few occasions. The sparrows love pecking out the new buds which wrecks the perfection of the bloom and late frosts can be a problem too. An easy tree but a high risk bloomer the poor years are easily forgotten when it all comes together. I think this year was my highest raceme count but I don't expect to post images like this every year

This was it today. Blooms should be fully open by the weekend.

I'm resurrecting this thread so we can have an update on these wisterias. I'm delighted with mine this year. For the first time the buds have turned into flowers and they have stayed on now for about 10 days. It's not the most beautiful tree but I still love it

@Sputnik How did yours get on this year?

I’m afraid mine hasn’t fared too well this year Daryl. It was blown over in one of our winter storms. The pot was shattered which was something of a tragedy but worse still the tree was left with its exposed roots in the air for two days as I was away at the time. I wasn’t too hopeful of saving it but I repotted it into a temporary pot and waited hoping for a miraculous recovery. It came through and is now looking quite healthy again but it only had two very small blooms. I now need to find another suitable pot which may not be easy.

Good to see yours blooming this year. :Big Thumb:
