A friend of mine just gifted me this parsnip from his allotment ;
16 inches long.
It's a beaut.

Very Sorry to hear about your accident, I must have missed when you mentioned it as I had no idea. That is a shame, hopefully a fresh start in the new spring? Thank you for complimenting my plot, the plastic is a bit unusual looking, I'm not sure what my plot neighbors think but it beats wedding and mowing which I simply don't have time for! |

I am still slowly recovering but im much better than i was a couple of months ago, i wasnt driving but it put me off car travel for a while, got myself a nice mini cooper and got back in the saddle again after 5 weeks not getting in a car, went for a mini driving holiday in wales to recover, lasted 2 days before i got very sick and had to come home lol not had much luck this year at all, but i did finally get round to doing an aquascape on my 60L tank, and most of my bonsai's are now within arms reach outside, not on the shed roof anymore as i could not climb a ladder with a full watering can. Things are looking up though, i have a date next week in london, i think we are going to see Melt Banana play live at the barbican! This is my first proper date since i came out a few years ago, so i am very excited and eager to be in tip top shape, back to the gym and back doing daily yoga routines, i am probably getting more exercise now than my sheepdog is getting! My garden has gone to pot a bit, but over winter i will cover a lot of the borders with tree bark, remove a lot of the shrubs that are slowly overtaking certain areas, and generally rethink the entire garden. The allotment though, every time i think about it i just wanna cry to be honest lol if i do feel i cannot manage it, i will give it up to give someone else a chance, but i am so determined to do something with it, plus i have a lot of shrubs already growing on the plot now, i dont want all my past work to go to waste but i know it already has! |

That sounds so frustrating, I really hope it all works out for you in time. The date sounds like a positive thing to focus on, onwards and upwards. And improving your fitness will speed your recovery and improve your mood so regardless of how everything else goes, you will be a healthier you, for you. And the allotment can be restarted again when you're up to it. You've got all winter to work on yourself first and by spring you'll be rareing to go! |
