Many of you on this forum will remember Mike Jones, a very active member, from the Taunton club until he had to sell all of his trees due to bad health and a house move to Lincoln. Well he has started his collection again and finding extra interest in the hobby.

He has just moved again and lives in Alford, closest place you might have heard of is Mablethorpe. Unfortunately, this means he is too far from any bonsai club.

He would dearly like to kick off a Bonsai club to encompass several key villages and small towns around here. Even Louth and Skegness are only fifteen miles away.

He now has a huge workshop which he can heat and light to hold club nights and workshops. He cannot let three and a half decades slip by without passing something on.

So................ if anyone on here, lives in the area of East Lincolnshire and would like to meet up to improve their bonsai, PM me and I will put you in touch.

He is also on Facebook under the Group page of 'British Bonsai Club'.........

Seems that we don't have any members in that area as no one has contacted me since 2019. Mike is busy these days on facebook and the British Bonsai Club pages.
His collection has increased :-)

Hi Paul. There's a very strong and enthusiastic club in Grimsby, called North East Lincolnshire Bonsai Club. I'm not sure how to tag people in this forum (if it's possible). @Ian Butland and @John Grimmer are active members of the club. I'll have a go at sending them a message on here (or jump over to FB as I know they are there too).

In my neck of the woods we are devoid of bonsai clubs. The Peterborough one closed the year before I got back into the hobby/obsession. If Mike was within striking distance I certainly would have jumped at the chance of acquiring some of his knowledge. I do have an acquaintance in my town that was introduced by a mutual friend so I have someone to bounce ideas off.

Good that you found someone Keith, yes it doesn't have to be a club just a small group who get together to bounce ideas around.

Mike is due to do a talk at the NE Lincoln club soon.

Internet forums are great at bringing like minded people together
