Hi everyone, I hope the virus has not affected you.

Here the spanish government have announced the exceptional measure of closing all schools in the entire Madrid province for two weeks starting tomorrow (Wed 11th). Other regions of Spain are also affected.

That means my kids will be going mad at home for two weeks, and their parents even madder.

Hahaha all three of them will have to repot their own bonsai! And maybe even help with some of mine ...

Probably for the best, schools are where kids go to day-trade germs. Did they do it to prevent spread, or because teachers were like 'Hell no'?

To be honest, I've thought about keeping my two off school voluntarily, as the wife would be at risk of difficulties if she got it. Not sure if we'd get in trouble though, the headteacher sends snotty letters home if a parent even mentions 'holiday' during term time...

To prevent spread - there was a sudden spike in infections yesterday so it's also partly to pace the hospitals and health services and resources.
The teachers are probably happy with the measure though!

Main thing seems to be not touching eyes, nose and mouth, and of course washing hands thoroughly and frequently. Unfortunately these are really difficult to enforce for kids, how ever willing they are! I think staying at home is only really effective if everyone has to.
The good news (for kids and parents) is that kids have much milder symptoms and there are no child deaths at all from it.

I'm under the weather with the worst virus I've had for 10 years, I wouldn't be surprised if I had Coronavirus lol. but being relatively young and healthy I've not needed medical attention. Makes me wonder what the true figure of infected people is, the diagnosed cases must be just the tip of the iceberg.

Sorry to hear it Sizzla. Keep warm and indoors, self-quarantine is a good idea for any virus. Get well soon!

And btw that was NOT a selfie!!

Spain is now in a state of emergency. We are now in lockdown. No going out unless it's for supplies or for work.

Here are some keys to surviving quarantine:
1. Repot all your bonsai.
2. Get your kids to repot their bonsai:
