My partner always tells me too many , but in my eyes it's about right for me. I was just wondering whats about right for most. Is it just have a few nice trees and look after them or like me trying to grow from cuttings , woodland finds , developing young trees etc.
i have a display with space for about 18 - 20 trees depending on size.

There are about 60 trees of quite varied types in a general growing area

I then have about 80, year old saplings and some grafted young trees in my lean too green house.

That looks pretty normal to me :smallthumb: You're clearly not totally obsessed yet!

When asked how many trees I have, my reply is too many.!!
In a normal year that is true, but in the current situation it means I can continue to work on and repot trees and not overwork them

Stay safe
Graham

This looks totally normal to me!! I have about 40 trees in various stages of development in bonsai pots, about 50 pre-bonsai in various pots and trays and about the same number again growing in the ground for future projects, oh and about 60 seedlings and cuttings in my greenhouse, and a few air layers on the go.... so you clearly have nothing to worry about yet....!

My wife also tells me I have too many, including the seedlings etc. I think what feels right for you must be right as long as it's not infringing on your partner's personal liberty in some way!

My garden looks like a reclamation yard. I pulled my temporary benches apart intending to build something more permanent, then you-know-what happened, so now I'm a full time software engineer, full time parent, part time primary school teacher, full time bonsai practitioner. So the bench build has been shelved...

Yep totally normal, I can't seem to throw a living thing away and end up with loads of cuttings. Got 30 odd in the allotment which helps fee the garden up a bit

It's only normal when the garden is full with no more room for trees.......... :07hysterical: :07hysterical: :1crybaby:
