While searching through some of my bonsai pictures, I came across these and thought that they may be of interest. They have been carved by one of our Swindon club members who is into his woodwork. I think that he said that it was a crane but I am no twitcher!!!! The detail that he has managed to get into it is impressive. You can see that it is carved out of a small piece of weed. The best thing is that it is only about 2 inches tall and my photos don't do it justice. It could be easily used to display in a tokonoma as a figure and with a tree. That is really good. I like where the feet go into the water and the grain of the wood is like a ripple. |

Don't think that he ever has sold any, I will check when I next see him. He is an elderly gent who doesn't do as much as he used to, due to poor health. He has a glass dome to fit over and onto the dark wooden base. Very delicate......Oh, and yes that is a little frog. Paul |
