If it's freezing and and in the window that may have something to do with it too. After being kept at room temp for however long it's being hit by the cold air from the window. It's probably trying to go dormant.

the elm will take a little time to addapt to it's new environment also, and it's new watering and feeding, compared to what they get instore.
I have a couple elms also bought from B&Q and they do fine inside, but can do better outside. Elms will drop leaves every now and again, they just turn yellow and drop off.

Hmm right
From what i've read online and from your feedback i think i'm going to: - Leave it on the windowsil (window its in front of doesn't open) - Keep the feeder tube in the soil - Water only when the top soil is dry
happy to hear that the yellowing leaves isn't a sign of it dying on me, thats a relief. So going to give it a few weeks and see how it goes.

One other thing.... the soil that B&Q's bonsai come in is crap... and does not drain to well at all. I would suggest once it picks up a bit then get it repotted into a better, free draining soil mix or litter

Refer to my previous post:- Quote: The soil hat these trees come in is pretty rubbish, and it would benefit from repotting in a free draining mix.
DO NOT USE their own bonsai soil. try a mix of 1 part compost 1 part sand, and one part grit.
As has been said it will survive better outdoors, but can grow indoors given plenty of light and no draughts.
keep it moist
