The amur maple is great in it's Autumn colours. Some good projects there Clint and a nice mix of species. The hornbeam has a tendency to blanket the tree with leaves a bit like Beech so I partial leaf cut to allow light to get to inner buds. Keep it well hydrated otherwise the leaf edges burn in prolonged hot weather - put it in shade if possible til temps reduce. |

Looks very interesting, good luck. Hornbeam is pretty tough, copes well with mild pruning any time of year in my experience, but no heavy pruning just yet... This is assuming that it is currently vigorous... Maybe it needs to settle in to a bigger pot first.... |
