Hi All I am going to try and post a progression over a year of this lonicera cutting. I am mostly doing this to see if I can get the hang of Flickr - please bear with me. This is what I pulled out of the pot where some cuttings had been shoved a year earlier. L2 by BrendanR2012, on FlickrI'll try find the post where I first mentioned this one. Cheers Brendan |

And here it is a year later: 20150710_165229 by BrendanR2012, on FlickrI put the roots through a bunch of holes in this piece of flint I found on Brighton beach. The Lonicera grew right through the rock. There is a central hole, and also second one on the side, and I coaxed a root through the smaller hole as well as rather brutally forcing the main trunk through the bigger hole. |

This was buried completely in the pot for the summer and autumn, and in winter last year I pulled it out and potted it up. I have done nothing to it since I repotted it. 20150710_165229 by BrendanR2012, on Flickr

The aerial root has to go. It emerged as a possibility after the initial repot. I did not cut it off but rather just left the wierd skinny and weak root either to grow or die off. It grew and hardened into the aerial root you see here. I was not sure whether it might fit the image. I think not. The root in the hole. by BrendanR2012, on Flickr
