Does anyone use an application or diary to maintain records of the progress, history and maintenance of their trees?

if so would you be willing to share?

Thanks

I think it's a good idea but I'm rubbish at keeping it up to date. I use XL for notes when I remember (date & description - nothing more than that). I file my photos reasonably well so I can see a tree develop over time. There are some apps around for this sort of thing if you want them.

I have a blog that I update to keep records and history of my trees... I like to see the progress thought the pictures I take and upload

Try Flickr for photos and add notes? I try take photos on my phone and add notes as I upload the photos. But that does not help set diary reminders for the future.

I write notes on discoveries and things I'm likely to forget in the front of one of my bonsai books, bit cryptic cos can't spell well but more handy when your hands are grubby with garden soil than any computer. Also I never browse stuff I store on my laptop, just goes to its digital grave in there. Do take some photos as progress can be startling years later, you can also show others, although like with pet photos its best to show only other enthusiasts!

I've tried Evernote and Onenote, both on an iPad, but these didn't work for me (too hard work). Best I've come up with is Excel for basic info & dates. But in truth I just really can't be arsed. Sorry, was that not helpful...?

theres one called otetsudaiqt, or OT2, a database program that was built for this, but i havent used it. i downloaded it ages ago but it kinda seemed like overkill. it might suit you though, im happy enough just taking pics before and after any work, or of anything interesting that happens, so i have a record of "what" and a date to go with it...

I also downloaded this OT2 and never used it. I'm not very good at keeping records but if you can do it consistently it is good to have a complete history of your trees.

Tried to keep a digital log but it becomes hard work especially at certain times of the year when the trees are demanding. Now I just take photos and keep a small handwritten diary which I must admit is very useful. Sure you have to trawl through it to find stuff but at least it gets noted because it's easy to do.
