I have talked of starting out in the world of bonsai for some time. Today i get home from work and my darling girlfriend has brought home a tree from the local garden centre. I have read up on watering techniques, and basic general care, and am looking forward to enjoying this hobby. My first problem is identifying my tree (it didn't come with any information) with this i'm sure you can help. Jamie |

welcome to the site :) If you can't post pictures here, you can upload your pictures to photobucket.com (it's free) and then post the direct link for it here. |

It's commonly known as a Chinese pepper tree. It's an indoor tree. I don't have one so I will leave care advice to the more knowledgeable. |

Welcome. Mine is still outside in the rain. It will come in by end Sept. Then next to a north facing window. |

mine is still outside also .....it really grew this year .....it loves being outside.....ill bring it in when temp drops below 10 Celsius at night....one year i kept it in and it didn't look very healthy....outside is definitely best during warmer months |

There is little point putting this tree outside at the moment. It can take awhile to adjust to the shock and before it does we will start getting cool/cold nights where it will be better off if protected from the cold. |
