I have cats as well as bonsai. I use tesco low dust or whatever it is there are calling the premium lightweight stuff these days for their tray. now am thinking hmmmm.... i routinely lob it in the bin rather than washing it down (rather smelly mind you) and reusing for my trees. Any you guys willing to admit washing it and reusing after ones cat has availed itself of it? |

stymie wrote: Nope! Are you sure that it is the same stuff John. I heard that they were using recycled paper or summat. Honestly Don its exactly the same stuff i had a play around with it before it went in the tray :) it looks the same feels the same same difficulties with crushing etc. If anything particulate size may be slightly smaller but anything looks smaller after sophisticat pink. and it would not be the first time i have had a bag thats smaller in size and the rest are normal size. |

Hi Apisto .... You try it first. Let us know what happens to your trees and then we'll think about it ..... VERY carefully!! Regards Sandra |

You know Sandra my logic is this It does not hold much of anything so a fair sprinkling of water running over its gotta wash away the ammonia etc in the cats urine. Same loginc applies to fertilising trees in inorganic mediums (it does not hold much of anything) goes in the bin normally Don. Though as i say just a consideration I could just rinse it off then put it out the pack and let the rain wash away everthing else |

I once visited Dan Barton in his house in Bristol. He admitted to occasionally giving the trees a "pint of homebrew"... |

You ask any of the older gardeners about 'wee' Why do u think there are no toilets on allotments? It's because they do it in their compost heaps. |
