Leaving the office yesterday I saw that they had cleared a section of the garden for new parking.

There were a bunch of huge lonicera growing there, so I wandered over in case something could be rescued.

Most were either too dead, dry or squashed.

I decided that this one, as it was so thick, was worth lugging home and attempting a rescue:

It is rather thick - thicker than a coke can. I hope it pulls through.

Wow! It certainly is a lump, lots of work to keep you busy there.

Excellent rescue. It should bounce back with growth in a few weeks time, Bren.

I will follow this thread with interest.

It's all starts with the trunk as we know, so a free good sized trunk if a find. Let's hope it survives.

Ok, nothing from the left yet - may not happen. I think this side was actually underground when it was growing:

Hi Brendan they are almost bullet proof. Could be a very interesting bonsai if you plant it on the edge of a cliff LOL. I'm sure you'll do a great job with it when it's ready to be worked on.
Cheers mate Nigel.
