People are using the Tesco low dust cat litter. My name trees are in pure cat litter, whilst some of my shohin are in a mix of CL and grit, then others are in a mix of CL grit and organic. I understand that Melcourt chopped bark is good as an organic additive but I can't get it at the right price to warrant using it. |

Hi I use a mix of Tesco low dust xat litter, Sani cat because it's slightly bigger and coarse grit between 5mm-10mm on all my trees and all thrive. Cheers Nigel. |

It should be mentioned that cat litter is being produced from many things unsuitable for growing plants in. The only ones to use are non-clumping varieties made from calcined Molar clay or granular diatomaceous-earth. |

I order Sanicat Pink online but wish I could find someone who ships the Tesco stuff to Spain for the smaller granule size. |

The tesco low dust cat litter in pink bag is the right type. Some cat litter is made paper pulp and is no good and others are also not clay based. One word of warning is that there is no guarantee that the manufacturers won't change the recipe and add a component which may kill plant life. I may be wrong but I believe there was an instance of this in Finland or norway. |

I’m also using the Tesco Low Dust cat litter as well but there are other types that are unsuitable for use as Bonsai like Don mentioned |
