Another garden centre buy from earlier in the year, I have read that These are difficult to get the branches to stay horizontal but that was after I bought it so I wired it up anyway. Oops!

I will probably reduce the height and foliage next year but am aiming for a triple literati kind of image. A long way to go but I had fun doing it and it will be fun seeing it develop (if it does lol)

The last image shows what I want to do with dead wood eventually. And hope to get more curvature in the trunks but they are quite stiff so easy does it

Well done on this styling - it's way better than anything I produced a year into the hobby (according to your profile) . If you want tips on how to improve it, I'll chip in. I had similar fun styling a juniper today in fact - worth it for the smell alone :) I'll post some pics tomorrow if you are interested.

Yeh i can see what youre trying to do there, you obviously have a vision. junipers make pleasing clump style bonsai, after seeing what Ryan neil done with one recently theyre very tempting.

That's very kind of you to say Paul. I am always open to suggestions, and am definitely keen to see your juniper. When I saw it at the garden centre it reminded me of this:

Which I used as inspiration.

I am happy with the proportions but I think the middle trunk might be a little too tall.
The process of refining is where I really haven't got a clue as I've got no experience with anything in training longer than a year.

Are you referring to the raft one he did on the free video? Now that guy has vision! I have found these young nursery junipers to be very resilient so far, they are my go to buy when I have an afternoon free and £10 spare.

Thanks bobby. I notice he also had a little trouble getting the bends to hold on the straight trunks. I've been toying with the idea of using thin wire to make a 'bow and arrow' bow shape to see if that will work to gradually bend them
