I'm wondering if it would be best to reduce bar branching on a redwood to one from each point or isn't it too important? Any help would be a great help.

Google images - some do some don't. Depends on the size and your plans?

I'm facing the same thoughts with some that I'm growing on. Interestingly lower down it tends to sort itself out (one branch dies off) and so it's only higher up in areas where it's effectively sacrifice growth that it's a (non) issue. FWIW redwood t-bars don't seem to cause knuckles or bulges.

I'd try to take off bar branching on any tree. In most cases it causes problems for the design, as well as the potential issues with knuckles etc.
