Picked this up today on my travels ....

Sold very much as a project but it should be nice if it survives . Having weeded it and twiddled off the dead stuff it seems every tree has new growth of sorts .
Fingers crossed !

Should bounce back and be quite nice. The growth that is there is nice and tight.

Just wonder what caused the one tree to die back, and if there is something that needs checking below the soil?

Brendan . The tree on the right has a little growth low down but very little , in the first pic you can see a moss covered stump in front of it .
That side of the group had started to die .
When weeding it i noticed the medium was very sodden and i was lifting 70% mud 30% grit . I also lifted a few short worms and one proper worm .
I asked about the group while browsing as it didn't have a price on it . Apparently it had been bought but the owner had given up on it as he kept killing it so took it back . It was put in the corner and left alone .
Daryl . The shop is in Bookham Surrey , He does shows such as Heathrow and is based in a garden center . We had a conversation and bartered on a nice pot and three good trees . I paid £60 .

Your clean up has made it look much better. Best of luck restoring this to health.

Thats the one Daryl and yes , hes a lovely bloke .
Thanks Gary .
Clive had put it on the bench and left it alone to recover . We discussed weed , water , feed and leave it alone . Repot in March .
I'm tempted to wire some branches down to let the light in but that's not leaving it alone is it :07hysterical: .

I'm not sure to be honest . I think its either Hinoki or Mediterranean cypress .

Some of this has been growing really well but other parts have continued to die off despite fungus and bug spray . Ive just taken it along to Mark at Make bonsai and as soon as he saw it said the pot was too big and its staying to wet .
Time for a repot so i dont lose the trees .
