Agree they are magnificent in flower. I struggled with mine (a lot of die back) until I started keeping it semi shaded.

Finally transitioned into a pot....a few more years to complete the silhouette and improve ramification though.

Was scared to break it, but with some pruning I feel like the angle has improved:

It's a bit of a mess still really, think I'll need to do some branch selection next spring
