I bought some Japanese Larch trees earlier this year (a great price for bare root trees), but it's a bit late in the year now. Mine were from https://3fatpigs.co.uk/ |

Hi Fenster Update your avatar etc to say where you are. People will likely know where to send you if they know what's local to you. But your local club is best. |

I bought some Japanese Larch trees earlier this year (a great price for bare root trees), but it's a bit late in the year now. Mine were from https://3fatpigs.co.uk/ I wouldn't recommend bare root larch to make a forest, I ordered 5 from them and only two made it through their first year. The roots are not suitable for our purposes either. Just long thick vertical roots that will never fit in a shallow pot. Buy plug/cell grown trees they are smaller but they will grow as soon as you plant them instead of sulking for months. And the roots are compact and fine enough to fit into a shallow pot. They thicken suprisingly quickly in the first year. And I've had 100% success rate. ![]() The wire has already started to bite in on mine |

Ditto Sizzla, I'll not bother with bare-root conifers, cell grown for me too |

Most online tree nurseries seem to offer various options. |

Chris Thomas will have loads of larch of all ages at the Swindon 'Winter Image' show on 23rd Feb 2020........... Just ready to be potted up and made into forests. Ordering online you get what you are given so much better to select the ones you need |
