Be patient. You did the air layer quite late. Yes, it is a callous, wrap it back up, you will need to leave it until next summer to get enough roots. |

If you're keeping this on over winter, be careful not to let the layer get too wet and then freeze. Ideally you'd want it just lightly damp and well insulated to protect any minute new roots from freezing. |

Hi It looks like the layer has dried out. Had you caught it sooner you might have saved it but I fear it is too late now. It is important when you wrap the polythene over the layer and spaggy moss, you make it as air tight as possible. |

Obviously it got a bit dry. But due to the time of year I would keep the layer on and see if it survives and leafs out in spring. You may be lucky . You may not |
