Where does that tree live? From the pics I suspect it is not outside, nor even right up against a window that gets good sun? Light is the most important resource a tree needs after water.

Hello Brendon it’s lived in a south facing window so gets most of the sun all day. I’ve had it all summer my problems always start with the onset of winter. I had to move it for purpose of the photograph. I had two ( Morrisons ones I’ve started reading the other thread which is really interesting) I did get advice to leave them in the garden so I tried one in one out . It rained all the time the one outside has lost a lot of leaves and the soil is always wet it looks like it’s on it’s way out.The one inside remained healthy I have really cut back watering but now the heating is kicking in as the house was getting cold. I am begging to feel the increase in heat lack of water and daylight hours it’s drying out. I just don’t know how to get out of it. I may not get chance to reply to comments today as I’m working but if anyone is kind enough to offer advice I will post up later tonight.
Thank you now

Does that pot have drainage holes? If not you need a new pot.

You should also consider getting it repotted into some decent free draining soil.

Yes lots got holes but is it the right time of year to repot ?

They will lose some leaves this time of year and the reduced light due to time of year and trying to keep one indoors won't help.

All good advice above and from those who are more experienced than I.

Yes you are right, it isn't the correct time of year for a re-pot. However there is a difference between a re-pot and a slip-pot. If your tree(s) are still in the original soil and it is holding too much water, then just taking the tree out of its pot, dumping the rubbish soil and replacing back into its container, or a bigger one, with better draining mixture, without cutting any roots, will help. However don't expect results overnight.

Thanks Paul and Keith really appreciate your advice I am sorry I can’t reply as often as I wish I could. I did repot when I bought them with a soil with more nutrients see picture. I did this in spring and they really flourished. I do have some special soil like gravel I got from a Bonsai nursery a long time ago.
Does any one think the plan should be remove from pot crumble the soil away from root ball don’t trim. Then mix 50/50 gravel and bonsai soil and pack it around the trees. Place in the garden with no cover and let nature do her thing. Is this a good plan ? What about frost heavy rain etc. Sorry for all the questions I am really into this I bought these as a trial to see how I got on I must admit I was surprised I lasted this long. Only really relying on you tube and stuff. My long term goal is to get a better one when I understand the basics if I’m ever lucky enough.
