Hi everyone, got a chamaecyparis Lawson wessilii. What I would like to know is can I bend the branches downwards like a juniper or do I have to keep them above the horizontal. Thanks in advance for any advice

Hi, the only way to know for sure is to try, there are so many variables. It really depends how old the branches are, they do get quite stiff and brittle after a while.

I've tried on one of mine, and I've found it tends to have a habit of dying back or losing most of the inner foliage.

Hi everyone, thanks for the replies and advice. Think I'll heed past experience nutcracker, think I'll keep them slightly above the horizontal, even if it means the tree looks younger
