Hi all

I'm planning on buying a cheap little project tree a Syzygium, now I plan to keep it outdoors along with the majority of my trees. In the winter months I keep them all in a small green house / cold frame.

Would this particular species be ok along with them outside during the winter, or would I be better off bringing it indoors. I've read such a lot of conflicting articles that I'm not sure what would be best for the tree.

I've attached some pictures of what I keep them in over winter.

Thank you all in advance

Tony

Hi Ive not grown this species so I suggest you take a look at this advice on Syzygium from Kaizen Bonsai https://www.kaizenbonsai.com/bonsai-tre ... -as-bonsai
I think your small greenhouse would be better if you placed it against a wall , preferably south facing, if youre overwintering slightly less hardy species. I would also make sure its properly secured to the ground so it doesnt blow over in strong winds!!

Thanks for the reply. It's against a wall. I positioned it so it gets plenty of day light, wall faces the east, so it gets the morning sun, however the side of the greenhouse is South facing.

It's been secured with 4 ground anchors. It's stood up to some ferocious winds, so I'm happy it isn't going anywhere.

The picture I attached of the green house is just a stock image for size reference of the greenhouse.
