I sawed off the bottom of the root stack, it looks like a motor or a heart or something

Now the roots look more manageable

And I decided these two top level roots are sticking directly out and will never make good nebari:

Thanks! I actually videod some of the work but just can't get any time to edit and upload to youtube. Maybe when the kids go back to school whenever that may be...
