Can anyone tell me about bamboo for bonsai grove/forests?
Any advice or pointers? Such as species to use etc?

I would suggest you try dwarf and low growing species - Arundinaria pygmaea, Arundinaria murielae and Arundinaria viridistriata are all easily contained Also the so-called Sacred bamboo Nandina domestica and its many cultivars-( its not really a bamboo but has similar leaves!) Most other Bamboos are extremely fast growing,need deep moist soil and will either die in a bonsai pot or shatter it when they try to escape!! |
