Kaizen will sort you out, I'd expect. |

Complain to the seller, couriers don't cover ceramics. Kaizen packaging is spot on. |

Cheers guys, just a little update, the seller was most apologetic and offered a full refund, which I took. (pending transfer) A tree for free. (if it makes it) Is it ok until my new pot arrives? probably a few days Regards C |

It will be fine where it is, yep. By the way, Graham's daughter at Kaizen is having a baby, so there might be a delay - I'm sure they explained already but thought I'd mention |

Enjoy it! You surely got the right choice of species for your first tree. |

Your tree wont bat an eyelid. You may get a few yellow leaves while it acclimatises to its new environment but will do no harm in the long run! Just watch your watering as the cat litter will dry quicker than the soil the trees roots are in so check the soil properly when you think you need to water, elms are pretty tolerant wet or dry tho so its perfect to learn on. most of my trees have come through the post and ive had a fair few broken pots on arrival, there all cheap crap (pots) so i just glue them back together and inform the seller, what does make the difference is when the seller wires the pot/tree to the bottom of the box. had zero problems when this is the case even when the box looks likes its been dragged behind the courier van! enjoy your tree an bonsai journey..... and if your board waiting for your new pot get the glue out |

I hate Hermes, have had several bad experiences with them. Nice tree though hope you get lots of pleasure from it |

Indeed. Their reputation is not good. |

On the other hand, Chinese Elms have an excellent reputation and deservedly so, you're going to get years of pleasure from that tree! And then any cuttings you take from it in the future, pop them in some soil and you'll have extra bonsais in a few years! |
