Hello Friends,

I really need an urgent help for this nice tree that I have. Its a nice some 30 year old tree. For last three years I can see its needles are falling. Mt tree is becoming bare of needles. I know the scot pine will shed needles but it should be only the older needles. With this tree even the last year needles are being impacted. I tried looking up the symptoms on internet yesterday and it seems it is suffering from Dothistroma or brown spot.

Does someone have experienced this and know which fungicide is known to remove this fungus. Mencozeb was suggested on internet.

As it is a very dear tree for me, I would really appreciate any guidance to get it back in health.

Thanks for your inputs.

Regards

Can you post some pictures of the whole tree and affected areas as it will help those in the know identify and suggest solutions. I'm no expert in tree diseases myself but I'm sure pictures will be beneficial to those who can help. I think Manconeb is unavailable in the UK. It's certainly recommended by Ryan Neil of Mirai quite often. If you're sure of your diagnosis have you tried any other fungicides?

My first thoughts would be to check the condition of the roots.

Does it look a bit like this?

This is on a JBP I nearly lost due to over damp soil conditions a couple of years back. Most of it's roots had rotted (95%) but it stopped deteriorating after a repot. It hardly grew last year putting out tiny candles. This year the candles are bigger (still small to medium) but I believe the tree still to be stressed and in recovery as it's developed the symptoms of needle cast. I understand the needles are doomed once infected but fungicide spraying can prevent spread to new needles. I hope so. I've sprayed mine and all my other (apparently healthy) pines as a precaution.
