Hi everybody. Its been a while since I last posted. I have a question....each spring I pinch out the terminal buds on my maple and then I defoliate in June every year. However the leaves do not reduce in size. My tree is so healthy and happy but spends its life looking like it needs a pandemic haircut. Any advice ? |

Some photos would be good. Some possible reasons 1. You simply don't yet have enough ramification. 2. The pot is too big. 3. Are you fertilising too much? |

Hi Gary. It could be 2 of those reasons. I removed the fertiliser pot today as it dawned on me that its looking too happy, I think it may be high on naruko !!! The pot size looks OK and you're right there isn't much ramification. Hard prune in spring do you think and no repot may help ?. And obviously not being so nice to it ha ha ? ? |

Which platform are you using for photos. What do you class as leaves too large ?? |

I was advised to use link picture but thats not working. What do you use. The leaves grow rapidly to over 2 inch |

I use flickr which is also free at the moment. Let's wait and see the photos. Do you know the type of maple. Some will always have large leaves |
