Here's one a bit further on but I got it from a garden centre. Still a few years completing the silhouette but the apex has filled out some after this photo was taken earlier this year.

What does a Garden centre dwarf cherry Kojo-no-mai look like. or rather where do I look for it, Trees, shrubs?? I have seen worked on examples but have no idea what it looks like in it's raw state. Any pics would be nice. I want to add this to my list Regards C |

Garden centres usually have them during the Spring as in flower they sell more |

Usually in the A-Z shrubs section but it’s worth just asking one of the staff, you never know they might have some in the sales corner. |

I have seen a few for sale in the past week in bigger garden centres. Theyre often sold as tangled , shapeless multistemmed bushes/ shrubs, so look out for ones with a single thick stem which could be better for bonsai training , but avoid top-worked grafted specimens with ugly graft unions! |

Would you class this as one? Bought for a fiver from Morrison's in March and planted in the only available spot in a border, it's probably doubled in size since then.  qewfc by Bonsai stephec, on Flickr

Here is one I bought from a nursery 12 years ago. Its sulking after a severe pruning but still looks ok IMHO!! It seems to prefer slightly acid soil and semi shaded conditions after flowering https://ibb.co/dB031wG |

Agreed re the semi shade. Mine seems to be prone to die back when in full sun, so for the last couple of years has been in semi shade and has been doing much better. |
