I'm just back from Ian Young's abode (Bonsai Eejit) and one of Northern Ireland Bonsai Society's top brass. All I can say is WOW.
Let me recover my breath and collate some images of his amazing collection in conjunction with Peter Warren as I reveal more of my amazing afternoon.

I really did Gary, it made me feel so much of a minnow in a big pool.
Ian's passion for his trees is self evident and is all around.
So many trees, so many quality trees and accents...
I am going to take a few one to one lessons from him once I purchase a tree of substance.
I will post some images over the comming days, too many to upload all at once.

Amazing day out

Looks great I'm envious. I saw a video of it on Peter Warren's live stream but would not compare to being there in person. Are you going to get a tree from him? I contacted him and I'm going to be getting a yamadori larch off him at the end of the month can't wait. Will probably be getting some one to one lessons off him too if the local club doesn't manage to get going again before next year.

If its the one I'm thinking of pob88, it's massive.
All too much to take in at one go.

That looks & sounds great. Enjoy it!!
I'm loving that tree to the right of the larch - somewhere between leaning informal and almost semi cascade. What tree is it? Can't see from the photo.

Looks very nice. My guess is satsuki (which almost guarantees is isn't!)

Your asking the wrong guy, I did't like to ask too many questions. I do know that it was sourced by Peter Warren though.

Yep those leaves definitely look like satsuki. Thanks for posting the closeups. What a tree!

I remember seeing an article or website a few years ago where a lot of high quality satsuki had become available. At the time I thought one of those would be nice then looked at the prices and decided a small family car might be a more prudent investment. Very nice tree either way.
