Hello all,
I bought one of these from the garden centre. I could put it in the garden, but as it was only £15 thought it might good from some bonsai practise. Do you think I could make a bonsai out of it? If so, should I wait before cutting it back and repotting? I will take a photo and put on later. A google search of juniperas chinesis stricta brings up a picture. It's spikey rather the soft junipers
Thanks

A bit early still for messing with junipers. You can certainly play around with them and make cute little bonsai.

I have a few needle junipers and love them, stricta is a columnlular type so it will take a while to set any bends and will straighten back out alot once wire is removed, severe bends seem to hold pretty well though.

They are much more vigorous than scale junipers which means they develop fast but can become coarse if not kept on top of.
