Hi,

Found that Scot White Pine as a £2 (!!!) clearance bargain at the back of the back of a garden centre. I immediately decided to take it home and try to shape it as a Literati. I slip-potted it in a slightly bigger pot and with the help of raffia bandages, 5mm copper wire, a few ropes and the strength of my teenager son, it agreed to move into a more interesting shape. A few weeks later and all seems good: the needles are very green, candles everywhere as well as plenty of tiny growth in places where there weren't any before.

I have looked a few videos on line and decided to decandle the parts that had grown enough for the final image I imagine and left the other where the tree is weaker to get more growth.

Feed with Green Dream Nitro+ Organic High Nitrogen Fertilizer.

I hope that I am doing this right... As I am new to Pines, I would welcome any advice.

i hope that you're all good by the way - it has been a while that I have not posted

Ben

I like it!

Are you going to make those bends more extreme over time? They tend to bounce bak quite a lot when the wire comes off.

Thanks! I like it too :-)

I don't know enough about Scots Pines but assumed to keep the wiring/bending for 2 to 3 years? I was thinking about waiting next year's Spring to increase the bending at the top for something much narrower. What do you think?
