Post subject:  New tree disease

For information:-look out for this! It was recently identified in Cornwall.
Yet another new tree disease attacking our forests-
Its a fungus like disease Phytophthora pluvialis known to attack western hemlock, Douglas fir, tanoak and several pine species (in particular radiata pine). It is reported to cause needle cast (where needles turn brown and fall off), shoot dieback, and lesions on the stem, branches, and roots.

I wonder how this one got here?
we already have Ash dieback, Oak decline, Sweet Chestnut blight, Horse chestnut leaf miner Phytophthora ramorum in Larch, Red band needle blight in Pine and many more non native pests ...... what will future forests look like?
