I tend to buy a bag or two ever time I go to a show so u get a build up off it it seems cheaper than buying it all in one go ;-)

Totally agree, Roy. It doesn’t work for me at all. Just turns to mush in a few seasons.

I now use a mix of lava, pumice and zeolite plus a bit of composted bark or mushroom compost if I want more water retention.

I also highly recommend recycling your used substrates. Just let it dry out, sieve out the bits of root and fine dust and re-use.

spot on Daryl, having used cat litter / mixtures of similar products for nearly 20 years i would not put akadama near any trees i have, as you say it turns to mush & does not work, its all bunkum from the japs. kaizen No2 for me these days

As mentioned before Sanicat Pink is no longer available. However, sancta Kittyfriend Pink is available and I took delivery of 30L this morning. Including delivery it cost just over £19. It's molar clay again and looking at it this afternoon is of a more uniformed size than the original Pink, which is obviously better.

Does anyone know if Pets at Home still stock this type of kittylitter?
