Larch cones, How do I remove the cones on my larch? They seem to be fixed to the bud tight, do I cut them and leave a stub? Thanks in advance |

Just cut them off at the base of the cone. Depending on the maturity of the tree depends on how many you remove. Young trees you want all the goodness to go into the tree for growth, but a mature tree can withstand leaving some for display purposes. I also have let some mature and then used the cones to shed their seed for sowing. |
