Hi,
About four days ago I severed a thread graft on a shohin C Elm. The leaves on the branch in question look well hydrated but there is a yellowish look to that branch. The graft was in place for a couple of years and the exit branch was thicker than the inlet (?) Branch. Is it slowly failing? Anything I can do to help it?

Probably best to keep it out of full sun, but apart from that not much you can do once severed.

I have had one success, and one failure. The failure looked for sure that it had taken, but as soon as it was severed it started dying off. That was on an English Elm.

Thanks for the reply Nick. I've popped it in the shade already. Here is a pic with yellower leaves on the right side of the image.
