Post subject:  Time for air layering?

Hello everyone.
I haven't posted here for sometime. What has prompted me to post now is my friend has some lovely trees in his garden and I happened to mention air layering, to which I don't know much about - only from what I have seen and read here on this informative forum.
Can anyone tell me if there is a certain time or season to do air layering?

I appreciate your time and knowledge.

I do mine later April into May as the trees are in full growth and sap is pumping. I check and remove around Sept, re pot without disturbing the roots, so they have a good chance to continue rooting into Winter.

If there is not enough root, re cover, protect from the Winter cold and re check in Spring.......... if needs be leave it on longer until it is full of good strong roots

yes if you want the best chance for it to root. The parent tree needs to be in active growth and when it is growing new roots
