My local garden centre has a few Stewartia pseudocamellia looking a bit worse for wear. however the leaves these look quite large. 2.5 inches + Q. will they miniaturise enough in time as a bonsai? He has priced them at £35 but I think they could be knocked down to a tenner or so as they have been there for yonks. I really admired a Stewartia at Greenwood a couple of years ago (don't know if it was pseudocamellia though) Anyone have much experience with this species? Any tips? thanks PJ |

I'm not 100% sure, but think Stewartia monadelpha is used more for bonsai than pseudocamellia. |

Thanks Guys. Yes I did know that monodelpha was perhaps more common. A quick scan of the web has not come up with much info except that monodelpha is better and that the Stewartia p. leaves are larger. So I thinks I will give it a miss until I know more. Thanks PJ |
