Anybody know if there are any bonsai clubs in the Stourbridge area? What are the main benefits of joining these clubs and are they good for beginers?

Unfortunately FoBBS list of clubs has not been comprehensive for some years. These days it only lists clubs that have paid to be members. Over the years many clubs have got disillusioned with Fobbs and stopped paying. I am sure there is a Stourbridge Bonsai Society, but on googling it briefly the 1 link to their site I found seemed to be broken. I am sure Corin will know when he turns up. The main benefits of joining a society is to actually meet other growers. Seeing their trees, asking them questions and getting their help to style your trees can all be useful for a beginner. |

Hi, The Midland Bonsai society is in Shirley/Solihull area, probably a bit far from you approx 25 miles round the M42 or 20 miles through Brum. I've not been yet but am going to try to make it along to one of their meetings. http://www.freewebs.com/midlandbonsai/ Cheers Rich. |
