Hiya, bit of a silly question really, but I have recently got a round pot to plant a pine in and I realised I've always planted in square pots, do the the same rules apply for potting in a round pot ie slightly to the rear and off centre to one side or another or do you tend to plant in the middle of the pot? |

It depends on the symmentry of the tree. I prefer to limit literati and very balanced trees to round pots. |

I have very limited knowledge, but this year have repotted 3 trees into round pots. I ended up placing them all as close to centre as possible. Have no idea if it's correct or not, just prefered the look. |

Hi Steve, blimey you responded quickly! The tree I'm planting is a balanced hence why I got a round pot! What I'm asking is should trees in round pots be off centre or right in the middle? |

I think this tree would look fine in the centre of the pot. How big is your pot? |

Thanks Corin, I'm sure it will look great in the pot you chose for me! Will add a pic when I've potted it. |

does the pot in question have feet? |

good point hungkuen, if the pot has three feet make sure two of them are visable to the front, it will make the whole composition feel more balanced. i always try and plant in the centre of round pots. |
